HerpoTherm Cold Sore Treatment - How It Works
The treatment of the herpes simplex virus with HerpoTherm takes place with the help of concentrated warmth of ca. 50-51°C. This prevents the occurrence of blisters when used early enough.
If other symptoms have already been noted (prickling, burning, itching, tension or pain), these will soon pass thanks to HerpoTherm.
Partial or complete denaturation of enzymes or proteins can be achieved through the heating up of the cells affected by the herpes simplex virus. This will prevent the virus from reproducing. The development of the lip blisters can be stopped.

Can't Praise This Little Gadget Enough!

I bought the 'Hot Kiss' 18 months ago after suffering from 3 or 4 breaksouts of cold sores each year - usually when I'm stressed or my system is a bit low. I guess that if you're reading this then you'll know just how great it feels (Not!) to have a pulsating blistering sore on top of eveything else!
Anyway, this has been about the best £30 I've ever spent. Since starting to use the HerpoTherm I've never actually had a sore develop! Usually, I apply at the first tingle and the sore is never heard from again. However, it's been a bit more of a challenge this weekend as I actually woke up on Saturday morning with the tiny cold sore bump forming - with no previous warning. Zapped it every hour or two yesterday and voila - it's now Sunday afternoon and the 'tightness' has gone, so I know it's not going to come to anything.
Having tried just about every lotion and potion known to mankind over the past 20 years, I can honestly say that this gives the best results. Yes, I'd love to have a permanent 'cure', but until that comes along this is the next best thing!
P.S. The battery lasts ages but always keep a spare for emergencies!

I have been using this brilliant device for 2 years now & have not had one cold sore in that time. It's simply amazing! I have had many a holiday ruined by a cold sore in the past but now I don't worry any more & can't tell you how good that feels.
The key is to carry it with you always & use it at the first hint of a tingle - well worth this precaution to be sure of remaining cold sore free!

Its the first time that I have used this treatment and in 20 years of coldsores it is the only treatment I have experienced that suppresses blister formation and shortens the length of the episode.
The cold sore does still arrive, but isn't quite so ugly and embarassing. Normally my episodes last for at least 14 days but this product has shortened the cold sore time to about 8 days - the best improvement i've ever seen (i've tried EVERYTHING!!!). I'm now waiting to see if the cold sores return - from the sound of the other reviews my fingers crossed may just work this time.

Well, it took me over 2 years to write this, because I always thought they would reappear sooner or later, but I was actually **cured** from my cold sore / herpes. Since I was "infected" by this, it kept coming out once in 2 or 3 weeks for like 3 months, so I googled it (back in 2007) cold sore, and then I found this website, in the first instance I bought one, it worked for like 1 month, and then it somehow wouldn't work anymore (I did check the batteries), so I bought another one, and I used it a couple of times for a few days, and that was it, no more cold sores or herpes, we are in 2010 now, since Feb 2008 I did not have a single cold sore spot, even when my immune system was down (and it did many times).

I've been plagued with cold sores ever since glandular fever at age 17. This is the first product that I have ever used that stopped the outbreak. I followed instructions to the letter and the cold sore never appeared! Yes, it is a little hot for a few seconds, but if you have given birth twice, this pain is nothing!.... Thanks! Funny thing about the HerpoTherm is after I got mine, I stopped getting cold sores as frequently just because I knew that I could zap them quickly if one did appear. The device made me much less stressed about getting them, and as a result I got way fewer cold sores!
One warning tho, it hurts like heck when you use it. Maybe I'm a wuss but the first time I tried it I couldn't keep it on my lip the full four seconds because it hurt so much. But you have to think of it like a tattoo... the pain is intense but it's doing no actual harm to your body, so it's just mind over matter for those four long seconds :) Expect your lip to be a bit red for half an hour or so afterwards. Still, who cares as long as it makes the cold sore not come!

I don't normally review products but this really does what it says it does! I get cold sores every couple of month and since I have had this product they are gone in days or don't even pop up. It all depends on when you catch it. If you use this right as you feel that tingle you can stop it from coming up all together its amazing! I hight recommend it!

It helped a bit but seems like the cold sore moved from its original spot and than reappeared and the device didn't help thereafter... I guess nothing is better than Valtrex.

Brilliant product!!! I was a bit sceptical when my husband bought it for me but I just had two separate outbreaks on my lip and it has stopped it. Finally I have an alternative to taking Acyclovir tablets. It will live in my handbag from now on. Fantastic! Worth every penny!

Mine HerpoTherm was delivered within 5 days in November. Since then I ave NOT HAD A COLDSORE.
I always get about 1 every 2 weeks because my life is so stressfull, however since I've had this as soon as I feel it I blast my lips and usually after 2 days of regular blasting about 5-6 times a day the smptoms dissappear.
2 days ago almost immediately my top lip started to swell no tingling before but I blasted it and every hour thereafter for 2 days and although there is a slight lump there is no blister and no more pain I'm just about to give it a good luck blast as I go to bed shortly.
If you haven't got one of these get one I will never be without it.

This product appears to work - a miracle amongst loads of ineffective expensive products for cold sores. It does make the skin tender after use for a couple of days but it seems to stop the cold sore coming out. Expect some seriously red skin for 15 mins or so after using - this disappears though. Good product - would recommend.

This is a great little gizmo especially if you dont want to keep running down the chemist when you get the tingle. Im off to oz for 3 months and i get covered in the hot weather so im packing a hotkiss in my suitcase!

Brilliant product, works, it's quick, but it's bloody hot! It really was hot - couldn't believe it.
However, it works so I don't care and the heat is only for around 2-3 seconds and then it beeps to tell you to stop. Would highly recommend - "cool" product - ha ha

Ouch! But it works if you catch them early enough. I tend to get 1 a month at this time of year and they normally last about a week. As long as I use my hot-kiss AS SOON as I feel the damn thing starting it seems to stop it in it's tracks. If I leave it a day or so before using then I regret it - it still cuts down the "life" of the cold sore but doesn't stop it from forming.

Catch them early enough and there is a very strong chance they will not develop into cold sores at all.
