How Does The Face Lift Work?

Faradic facial toning, using electrical muscle stimulation, is a tried and tested beauty treatment which has been practised for over 40 years. It is a gentle, relaxing form of exercise as it involves passivity - the EMS activity does all the hard work for you. The EMS increases circulation in the area and encourages more oxygen to the skin cells, removing toxins at the same time.

There are two Faradic programmes to the unit: one for firming and one for tap toning. Faradic toning can be applied to the forehead and brow, under the eyes, cheeks, naso-labial region, upper & lower lips, chin, neck and behind the ear.

Iontophoresis Infusion uses small micro currents to permeate the skin with the active ingredients, collagen and retinol, contained within the patches used during this treatment. Both retinol and collagen have anti-aging and anti-wrinkle effects and when used correctly, the Rio Face Lift facilitates the absorption of these ingredients.

love the lip-plumping effect!

I've used this 7 times now and so far i've seen some pleasing results. I am a very fussy person when it comes to buying products which promise big results. I expect excellent results in turn for my money. But i can say this is worth every penny. It takes a while to get used to the sensation and some facial areas are more sensitive than others, but if you can accept this and persevere with it then you won't be disappointed.
The unpleasant side-effects whilst using this are:- 1- with settings higher than 6, it feels as if you're receiving a small electric shock in that area (which you are - in effect), 2- it can cause a funny sensation in the teeth, 3- the gel is very runny and runs out fast (i've used 50mls already), 4- you need to keep switching it down between areas otherwise it 'pinches' the skin at first contact.
The good side effects are-
1- it plumps the lips and this has lasted for me so far, 2- it has firmed my face, especially around the eyes, but it has had a slower effect on the chin, which in my case is in need of a lot of work, 3- after each use it gives the skin a glow and the face feels tingly.
Since ageing is not just about the skin and muscles it can only get you so far in looking better. Ageing is also about the bones structure, the ligaments, the connective tissue and puppy fat loss. Plus ageing happens at much deeper levels than the skin and muscles alone.
So,if you're after a fresher, revived look and you don't expect miracles then go for it!
