The Science Behind The BackJoy

We believe that in order to get real relief while you sit you need natural and balanced posture, much like you have when you are standing. In order to achieve this balance your pelvis must be able to move freely while you sit. Where your pelvis goes, the rest of your back follows.

When you sit without BackJoy Core, your pelvis becomes immobile and falls backward creating the ‘c’ shaped posture in your spine. When your pelvis cannot move your body will strain to hold your back erect. Unnatural pressures and strains will aggravate injuries or back conditions that create pain and discomfort.

The secret to BackJoy Core’s ability to provide relief for such a wide variety of back conditions is this: BackJoy Core will maintain your proper spinal alignment and provide natural, balanced posture. This is due to the patented tipping, cupping and cradling system of BackJoy Core, which allows your pelvis to float freely and move during sitting. No other device or seat can do this!

BackJoy Core activates the pelvic floor and restricts the spreading of the lower pelvis, allowing the six components of the pelvis to work fluidly as one unit. These images show pressure and weight on the seat underneath your body. In the “After” image on the right, you can see how your centre of gravity will be moved forward. Your body weight is redistributed away from your sacrum and coccyx as your spinal system begins to “float” over the seat in your muscle and soft tissues. BackJoy Core and your body work together, simultaneously, to keep pressure and strain away from your back and prevent harmful pressure points from developing between you and your seat.

How To Use The BackJoy

	1. PLACE Place BackJoy Core on your seat so the handle will go between your legs. Do not put BackJoy Core behind your back! It should not touch your back!
	2. SIT AND SNUG Sit on top of BackJoy Core, not just in it. Then pull it snug with the handle. You can also reach behind and push it against you. Either way make sure you are completely on top of it. BackJoy Core must be snug underneath your tailbone. You can lift your weight off the seat slightly to get it as snug as possible.
	3. SKOOTCH The “Power Move”! Lean a little forward. Use your hands to lift your weight off the chair slightly, and press with your feet to “skootch” your buttocks towards the rear of the seat. BackJoy Core will skootch with you.
	4. ADJUST TO COMFORT Make sure you are all the way on top it, not just sitting in it. Sit up, and feel the comfort! Adjust this position as you see fit. Make sure BackJoy Core is underneath you - not slipped up behind you.
	5. FEEL THE CHANGE Remove BackJoy Core from under you and sit back down. Feel your buttocks flatten and spread under your body weight. Feel your pelvis fall backward and compress. Feel strain and tension radiate from your low back. Notice how much lower in the seat you are sitting. That’s regular sitting. Isn’t it better with BackJoy Core?
