Nutrition and Health Scientists readily agree that consuming Omega 3 (found naturally in krill extracts) is essential in our diets today. EPA and DHA, two important fatty acids, are crucial in heart health and brain function. Many studies have indicated that n-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory benefits, as well as maintaining a healthy cardiovascular system. However, modern diets are often lacking in these essential fatty acids, and with the best will in the world we often find it difficult to consume sufficient fish to get the required amounts.

What is Krill Oil?

Krill Oil is 48x more powerful than omega oils.

Krill Oil is set to be the next "must have supplement" and is tipped as possibly becoming more widely used than Omega!

Despite their small size – one to five centimetres in length – krill make up the largest animal biomass on the planet.

Krill oil, like fish oil, contains both of the omega-3 fats, EPA and DHA, but hooked together in a different form.

A number of studies have shown that krill oil is tremendously effective in reducing LDL-cholesterol, raising HDL-cholesterol (up to 44% in some cases), and lowering blood sugar. It has been shown to be effective in treating the pain and inflammation from rheumatoid arthritis and aches and pains in general. One large study showed that krill oil has tremendous benefits in terms of symptom reduction in PMS and dysmenorrhea. And it has been shown to be effective in the treatment of adult ADHD. In all these studies krill oil was tested against fish oil and not simply a placebo.

Is Krill Oil a Good Anti-Oxidant?

Absolutely!

Independent testing reveals the antioxidant power of Krill to be:

  • Over 300 times greater than Vitamins A & E
  • Over 48 times greater than Omega-3
  • Over 34 times greater than Co Q-10

Ask a Question

Question: I am currently taking co Q 10. 200mg 1per day together with flax seed oil. If I start taking krill oil is it necessary to stay on the other two supplements? I started taking co- Q10 some time ago as I am experiencing bad side effects from simvistatin. I take simvistatin 40mg 1 at night. I want to come off simvistatin and am taking myself off at a gradual rate. I really just want to know if I should carry on with the co-q10 and flaxseed or just take the krill oil. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
Our Answer:

Hello, we would always advise taking co Q10 alongised any supplements you take, as it is such a brilliant booster for immune support. Krill Oil alongside co Q10 and Flax Seed is a great combination - I wouldn't advise stopping any of them. For medical reasons, however, we cannot advise on specific prescribed medication. Many thanks, Richard

Question: Would Krill Oil be suitable for me to take? I read that it is a good supplement for rhumatoid arthritis. I am at prescribed Methotrexate 15mg by injection and hydroxchloroquine 200mg tablets for this condition. I have been told by my consultant not to take over- the-counter remedies, but fish oil may be helpful. I would value your views on this, but I'm sure if I ask my Dr about it, he will propbably have never heard of it. Thanks.
Our Answer:

Hello, Krill Oil in general is very good for helping with arthritis, as well as in supporting a healthy cardiovascular system and has been shown to support good cognitive function. Krill OIl in particular is a very healthy form of fish oil, and if your consultant has advised taking one then we would recommend taking Krill as a very pure and effective form. With all prescribed medications, however, we do advise that you check first with the prescribing doctor. Many thanks

Question: Can I give this to an 18-week old infant who is suffering from gut problems after mum took antibiotics at her C Section and then other drugs such as painkillers whilst breastfeeding?
Our Answer:

Hi, we can't suggest giving any supplement to a child for legal reasons I'm afraid. We have to recommend you discuss with your Dr. However, on a personal front, for gut problems, I'd look to be giving my child some form of child pro-biotic rather than fish oil. Thanks

Question: is your krill oil cold pressed
Our Answer:

Hello, yes, the Krill OIl is cold pressed, and is guaranteed to contain 100% pure Antarctic krill oil. We do not add any perservatives or additives to our Superba Krill Oil. Made solely from Antarctic Krill (Euphausia Superba), it is pure and natural. Many thanks
