About Lumie BodyClock Active 250
Lumie BodyClock Active 250 - helps you wake up naturally, with a gentle sunrise that brightens up over 90 minutes. Helps you wake slowly, naturally and gently - perfect for those who struggle with getting out from under the duvet!
Lumie - inventors of the first dawn simulators - have released the BodyClock Active 250, with a whole host of new features that make this the must-have product if you have trouble waking up, suffer from SAD or have trouble dropping off at night:
- Sunrise - gradually brightens over 15, 20, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes - you choose what's best for you!
- Sunset - gradually dims the light, helping your body prepare for sleep
- Operates as a dimmable bedside light
- Features an FM radio with digital tuning
- Alarm noises include a beep, dawn chorus or rooster
- Sleep inducing noises include the sound of waves and white noise to block unwanted distractions
- Snooze feature
- Power failure back up

A dawn simulator like the BodyClock Active has been shown to help boost energy and productivity, and improve your overall mood. It's also just a much more pleasant way to start the day than an insistent beep! And with the built in FM tuner, you can opt to be woken by the erudition of Radio 4, the gentle sounds of Radio 3, or even, should you so wish, Chris Moyles.
The BodyClock Active 250 also helps you drift off towards sleep gently - working in the same way as Sunrise, the Sunset feature gradually drops the light levels in the room, gently persuading your mind and body that it is time to slow down, relax, and sleep.
Lumie and SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder
Seasonal Affective Disorder - or SAD - affects an estimated 2% of the North European population, with an estimated 10% of the population suffering some of the symptoms of SAD, often called the "winter blues". Lumie's SAD products help flood the brain with light, helping relieve the symptoms of SAD by stopping the production of melatonin (produced by the body when light levels drop, telling the body to go into sleep mode). The Lumie BodyClock Active 250 works well in combination with their dedicated SAD lights.

Lumie Body Clock - Really Works!
wiljoey87
I am an international athlete, which means that I am up very early in the mornings (5:30am) to fit my training in. I was given the lumie body clock as a trial to see if it would help my body to wake up at a more natural pace rather than feel like I was getting up in the dead of night. I have been using it now for the past 4 weeks and it genuinely does work. The artificial sunrise starts an hour before my alarm is due to go off, filling the room with light by the time 5:30am comes around. Before Lumie, I would seriously struggle to get myself out of bed and probably hit the snooze button two or three times, making myself very late for training and also feeling extrememly tired and drained. Since using Lumie I find myself getting out of bed right after my alarm goes off and I only realise it is still dark and early outside once I walk out my front door. I recommend this to anyone who struggles getting out of bed in the morning, it also comes with a great radio as an added bonus.
