About Femetone - VAT Exempt Version

Femetone - VAT Exempt Version

The FEMETONE neuromuscular stimulator is a dedicated pelvic floor stimulator. The Femetone stimulates the pelvic floor building up and strengthening the muscle.

Using the latest techniques from research the Femetone restores the muscle of the pelvic floor so that you can continue your life without worrying.

  • With its three built in treatment programmes it simply treats all types of incontinence.
  • With the FEMELEX electrode the stimulator does the squeeze & release exercises for you.
  • The electrode is as easy to insert as a tampon.
  • Being extremely light weight it is easy to keep in place and many women continue to be active in the house while receiving treatment.
  • It is extremely easy to use, its built in microprocessor does all the work for you.

Please Note The Femetone Pelvic Floor Stimulator Is Now Discontinued

However, we have many other Pelvic Floor Stimulators that can help....

The Electrical Stimulators Work In The Same Way:

Simply insert the probe and switch on the unit, select the program and increase the intensity until you feel a gentle tingling. The unit will change frequency at appropriate times to build up and strengthen the pelvic floor. After the preset treatment time the unit will switch itself off.

Most Toners do between 180 and 450 squeeze and releases for you while you relax!

Why are Electrical Pelvic Floor Stimulators Different?

Our stimulators are better than most because they use sequential frequency stimulation. Some cheaper stimulators on the market only use a single frequency, this does not treat all the muscle fibre types in your muscle. If their frequency is high (above 30 pulses per second) the muscle tires after only 5 - 10 minutes and will not respond to stimulation.

Sequential frequencies treat all the fibre types in the muscle for appropriate times, ensuring maximum treatment. Sequential frequency stimulation is like having a personal trainer, adjusting your workout for you.

Using the stimulator enhances your own workouts, using the probe allows you to feel where your pelvic floor really is and starts the exercises for you. For advanced users and to get maximum benefit you can do your own manual pelvic exercises along with the Femetone.

After 2 kids and suffering the odd "trampoline" incident I did some research and found this product. I have to say, 2 months on it really has helped a great deal. One small criticism though - the packaging and the build quality is a little lower than I thought it should be - mine fell apart but Peak Nutrition sent me a replacement that was fine.

Ask a Question

Question: will it work on me I'm 90 year old
Our Answer:

Everyone is different but if your issue is stress or urge incontinence brought about by a weak pelvic floor then yes, it should. However, please discuss with your health care professional before commencing just to be on the safe side as we don't know if you are on existing medication or your medical history. Thanks

Question: What sort of battery is used with this equipment. If it lasts for only a month how much does a new one cost, do you supply them or are they supplied on the high street?
Our Answer:

Hi, we have stopped selling the Femetone now sorry - we have replaced it with the Femme Elite. Anyway, I think the Femetone took 2 x AA. Thanks

Question: 1. which way around is the metal part inserted, front to back or sideways?

2. Can the pulses be felt?
Our Answer:

The metal parts of the probe should sit east-to-west so to speak. The probe should be inserted high enough so you can feel the pelvic floor muscles contract - everyone is different so we can't just say insert x amount of inches we're afraid. But yes, pulses/contractions should be felt. If you can't feel anything ensure you use a lubricant. If you still can't then hold it in the crook of your elbow that is damp and turn it up until you do so. If you still can't after that then please contact us through our helpdesk on http://helpdesk.peak-nutrition.co.uk so we can ask more questions before deciding whether a return is required or not. Kind regards

Question: which lubricant do you recommend using with the femetone
Our Answer:

I would suggest either the AthenaGel or the Yes Lubricant - both are water based and paraben free.
You can read more about AthenaGel here

or here for Yes Lubricant

Question: When will you ship to tne USA? Should you use it without seeing a doctor. What is the price in dollars?
Our Answer:

Hi, we can't say whether you should use it without seeing a doctor or not as that is upto you. If you are in doubt you should seek medical advice. We will be shipping to the USA soon - we are just sorting out a reliable and cheap carrier - as for the price in USD there is an option at the top of each page to change currency to USD, CAD, EUR or GBP. Thanks

Question: Do you ship to USA? What is the cost?
Our Answer:

Not as yet, no - but we will very soon!

Question: Can you use the femetone product if you have varicoise veins or raynauds(poor circulation in hands and feet)
Our Answer:

Yes, no problem at all. Kind regards

Question: Hi, how long should I use this for each day?
Our Answer:

We suggest using 1 programme once a day. You can use it more but our research suggests the no real benefit is shown by using it more than once a day. Thanks

Question: I suffer with Myasthenia Gravis A muscle weaking disease.
I am losing bladder control and so far I am getting no where with the general pelvic floor exercises.
Could your device help me with this problem, as it seems that I am on downward spiral with this complaint.
Thanks
Susan
Our Answer:

To be honest, if you are not succeeding with normal pelvic floor exercises, and assuming you are doing them correctly, then no electro stimulating device will probably help. If you are not doing the exercises correctly then the electric ones such as the Femetone could well help. It is probably best to discuss with your doctor if possible to be honest. It also depends on how long you have been doing the exercises for too - it can take several weeks to see results using the normal manual kegel exercises. Thanks

Question: I have had a uterine prolapse since 1996. It doesn't tend to bother me too much but my gynaecologist tells me I will need hysterectomy and repair at some point. I do not suffer from urinary leakage but often need to go to the toilet more frequently ( certain times of the month ) I admit to not doing pelvic floor exercises..! but now feel that I should look to something to prevent my prolapse becoming worse. I am also looking to enetr into a new relationship and am somewhat anxious over the more intimate side of a relationship and wonder if one of your products may help!
Our Answer:

Hi, as each prolapse is unique you need to check with your GP/consultant before using any kind of pelvic toner - whether it be the electro-stimulant ones or the manual ones. In most cases it is fine to use a toner and you will see (feel!) benefits. However, as we are talking about an existing medical condition we have to say you need to discuss with your GP/consultant first. Thanks

Question: would the product help with a prolapse
Our Answer:

Hi, it could well help though you need to discuss with your GP as to whether this kind of treatment will specifically help your individual case. Thanks

Question: i have had trouble with bladder for a long time how can i be sure this will help
Our Answer:

Hi, if your trouble is due to stress incontinence then this product will definitely help I can assure you of that. Many thanks

Question: what way do the shiny plates have to go in? Many thanks
Our Answer:

Hi, the metal contacts should face sideways as the probe enters the vagina - thanks

Question: Hi, can you use Femtone after a hysterectomy?
Our Answer:

I don't see why not to be honest though you should check with your healthcare professional to be on the safe side.

Question: I suffer with stress incontinence which is the main reason I am interested in purchasing the femtone, however can you tell me if femtone also helps with improving sexual sensation by improving the muscle tone in the vagina
Our Answer:

It does, yes. Though to be honest I think the PelviTone is better than the Femetone at that as it has a programme just for this as well. Thanks

Question: I have fitted in an IUD. Can Femetone be used with it?
Our Answer:

Hi, as you have an IUD you should talk to your healthcare professional before using any pelvic toner. It should be fine and we know of many customers who use toners with these devices fitted but you should always check with a doctor or nurse first. THanks

Question: Hi I don't have leakage but my doctor said I have a weakness in the wall of the cervix which pelvic floor exercises will sort out. Can this product help with that?
Our Answer:

Hi, if your GP said that pelvic floor exercises will help then yes the Femetone (or any of our pelvic toners) should help. You can also select the VAT Exempt versions too as it's a medical condition. Thanks

Question: Is it safe ?
Our Answer:

Femetone is designed and manufactured to all medical standards. As a medical device it has to be certified and controlled by a quality system. It is used by hospitals and clinics in Europe and around the world. It has also undergone medical trials. However, it cannot be used if you are pregnant as no research has been done. It can be used after childbirth though we suggest you discuss with your health care professional first.

Question: Does it work ?
Our Answer:

Femetone has a long pedigree, the manufacturers have been designing stimulators for research and use in hospitals for many years. Some incontinence can be treated in a month, others can be longer term. If the pelvic floor has been weak for a long time it will take longer to build back up. Results will be seen and felt in a few weeks though it depends what you expect to achieve, how long before you are satisfied depends on you. It must be used every day at first though to ensure the best results.

Question: Does it replace Pelvic or Kegel exercises ?
Our Answer:

No it complements exercises. If the pelvic floor is weak it will be almost impossible to do manual exercises yourself. The femetone will build up the pelvic floor and give you a sensation for you to understand where the pelvic floor is. Many women at first are unable to exercise the pelvic floor themselves (not a muscle you exercise at the gym!). Using the Femetone to start your exercises is excellent, it does a warm up for you and gives you a prompt to hold the exercise.

Question: How large is the probe ?
Our Answer:

The probe has been ergonomically designed to fit most people comfortably and stay in when exercising. A very small number of females find it uncomfortable and some report difficulty in keeping it in. The vast majority of users have no difficulties.

Question: Is the probe difficult to clean ?
Our Answer:

The probe is designed as a single user part. It only needs washing in soapy water and allowing to air dry, if you wish it could be cleaned in similar products that babies bottles are cleaned in.

Question: Can I use it more than once a day ?
Our Answer:

Yes because the Femetone uses sequential frequencies you always receive a warm up and cool down session in your exercises and as your muscle fibres are never tired it is safe to repeat again. Just leave approximately one hour before any other sessions, we do not recommend you use it more than twice a day, it is not really necessary to use more than once a day though.

Question: How long do the batteries last ?
Our Answer:

The batteries should last approximately one month in normal use. If you are using it several times a day it will obviously run out quicker

Question: How high should I turn the Femetone ?
Our Answer:

The output should be adjusted until you feel a gentle tingling, you get no further benefit by higher outputs. Once you have adjusted the level at the beginning do not adjust it, some frequencies in the sequence are quite low and sensation will be lower.

Question: After a few minutes I cant feel it!
Our Answer:

The Femetone uses sequential frequency stimulation, some of these are quite low and some people are unable to feel them, dont adjust the output level, later frequencies are higher and will be felt. There is also an amount of accommodation that takes place and sensation can sometimes be quite low.
If the pelvic floor is weak or surgery has taken place sensation can be quite low too.
