About DRI Sleeper Eclipse Wireless Anti Bed-Wetting device

DRI Sleeper Eclipse Wireless Anti Bed-Wetting device

With wireless technology, The DRI Sleeper Eclipse uses the best and most effective treatment for bed wetting - an alarm triggered when wetting starts. A Urosensor is placed in the underwear of the child, and when it detects wetness triggers an alarm to wake the bedwetter. The child begins to learn to wake more and more quickly on hearing the alarm, and finally starts to beat the alarm and react before wetting starts.

  • Uses the most effective means of treating bed wetting
  • The non-metal urine sensor does not corrode, is easy to clean and does not cause skin irritation.
  • No wires between alarm and sensor
  • Child-friendly "rocket-ship" design

What's So Good About the DRI-Sleeper Eclipse Bedwetting Alarm?

The Urosensor contained within the DRI-Sleeper Eclipse Bedwetting device reacts to the first drops of urine. The sensor is the key to beating bedwetting - don't be taken in by thin clips of domes on the underwear: urine can miss, especially with boys, and NOT trigger the alarm.

  • No wires between alarm and sensor
  • High volume with a tamper-proof volume adjustment
  • Designed like a small space rocket for child appeal
  • The Urosensor can transmit to more than one DRI-Sleeper alarm unit and so there can be another receiver in a parent's or carer's room
  • Big detecting area to detect the urine

Tell Me More About the Technology

When an alarm is triggered by urine, it starts bleeping. But what many people fail to understand is that with most alarms, all the time the alarm is beeping there is an electric current passing through the sensor. Although this current is small, it can cause the urine to become acidic through electrolysis and that can irritate a child's sensitive skin.

However, the DRI-Sleeper Eclipse is different!

As soon as the Urosensor is wet by urine, it triggers the DRI-Sleeper Eclipse alarm which starts beeping and instantly the special alarm electronics isolate the Urosensor and no further current passes through it. The DRI-Sleeper Eclipse alarm unit continues to beep but there is no danger of the urine becoming acidic - no acid, no skin irritation!

How to Use the DRI-Sleeper Excel Bedwetting Alarm

All it takes are three easy steps:

1. Put the Urosensor in the underwear

2. Place the DRI-Sleeper alarm unit on a table away from the bed so the child has to wake completely to turn it off.

3. Switch on the DRI-Sleeper alarm and that's all.

And treatment is now ready to begin!

The Bedwetting Report by Dr Anthony Page PhD

Dr Anthony Page is a clinical psychologist who has been treating bedwetting for over 30 years. From his work with bed-wetters, he prepared the following report which we have included for your information.

How Common is Bedwetting?

There's research on bedwetting that goes back over at least 50 years which shows that between 10-20% of children around the age of five years wet the bed at night - and even at the age of 19, there are 2% who are still wetting. This therefore means that bedwetting is a problem for about 1 in 7 children between the ages of 5 and 18.

Why Do Children Wet The Bed?

First of all, most parents of bed-wetters say that their child sleeps very heavily. This is true, but it is also true to say that there are also many children who don't sleep heavily who wet the bed.

Secondly, they say that their bedwetting child soaks the pyjamas and the bed when they wet, and so they conclude that they must curtail their child's drinking.

Although it's true that bedwetting children are producing a lot of urine in the night, it isn't necessarily because they drink too much before bedtime.

Thirdly, some parents remember that bedwetting was an issue for them, too.

In conclusion, children who wet the bed tend to sleep very heavily, they produce lots of urine through the night and the problem runs in families. And it's a combination of the three factors which results in a bedwetting problem.

Taking the genetics aspect first, if one parent was a bed-wetter, then there is a 40% chance that the child will also be a bed-wetter. If both parents were bed-wetters, then this likelihood increases to 70%.

The production of too much urine in the night is due to a particular hormone the brain produces while we sleep. The hormone has the job of restricting the amount of uine produced thus allowing us to have a mostly undisturbed sleep. Unfortunately, in children who are bedwetters, there is not enough of this hormone produced and so they continue to produce the same amount of urine as if they were awake. The upshot of this is that they need to empty their bladder two or sometimes three times in the night and each time they go, they pass a large amount of urine.

Combine these two features with heavy sleeping and you have the classic bed-wetter.

Is It Possible There is Something Physically Wrong With My Child?

It's very unlikely - only around 2% of children who are bed-wetters have a physical condition such as a bladder infection, or diabetes, but it is still a good idea to have your GP check out your child to make sure.

Some parents assume that their child's bladder is too small, but that is rarely the case. However, if your child needs to go to the bathroom often during the day and passes only small amounts of urine, then a small bladder is a possibility. Check it out with your GP if you have concerns.

You should be most alert if a child who has been dry for years suddenly starts to wet the bed. This is when there might be a medical cause or perhaps an emotional upset - check this out with your doctor. This type of bedwetting is termed 'secondary' because it is secondary to another problem.

So, What Can Be Done?

It is clear from research that the only reliable method for treating bedwetting is to use a bedwetting alarm.

Mostly the treatment is straightforward: children who wet several times a night will begin to wet less often, then after a week or two (although this time is quite variable) your child will begin to wake more and more quickly as the alarm is triggered. You will notice that there will be less wetting because the alarm enables your child to stop the urine flow. Gradually, your child will wake more readily until he or she is waking consistently without the need for the alarm. To get to this stage usually takes 6-8 weeks, but again, this is variable.

The final step occurs spontaneously: after a few weeks, your child will mostly sleep though the night with no need to wake to go to the bathroom. Of course, just as with the adult pattern, there will be times when waking to go to the toilet is necessary.

Some children relapse and if that happens, the technique is to return to using the alarm again and also to use a relapse prevention approach. This is to simply use the alarm until the criterion of 14 consecutive dry nights is acheieved and then to have the child drink a glass of water befre bed so that within an hour or two, he or she will need to use the bathroom. Either the child will wake naturally, or the alarm will be triggered and either way, your child receives more training to wake. This is continued for 7 months and then the extra drink is stopped and attaching the alarm each night is continued until 14 consecutive dry nights are attained.

Remember, all children are different and these stages are reached individually - there is no set time for bed-wetting to cease.

Here are Some Reviews from Very Satisfied Parents

"After nine years of wet beds, my daughter is now dry every night. She has renewed confidence and is now enjoying sleepovers and camps she missed due to this problem. Your DRI-Sleeper worked in 4 days. I wish I had found it earlier!"

N Waller: Bellaire, Texas USA

"I have three kids, ages 14, 11 and 8 years. I ordered two DRI-Sleepers about eight months ago. My mmiddle child and youngest were wetting the bed in the night. We were exasperated what to do. We tried all kinds of drills to get our kids to stop wetting. When we received the DRI-Sleepers, we immediately had the kids using them. I am amazed to say that both of them have completely stopped wetting the bed. I can't believe it! It only took about three weeks for them to be completely free from this problem. They are both as happy as can be that they have stopped wetting the bed. They were so proud and so were we. We have tried other alarm products with very limited success and no long-term success. The design of this product was an immediate success. The small alarm attached to their shoulder was their ticket to freedom."

Ask a Question

Question: Our son uses the alarm and recently it has started to go off frequently in the night when he is not wet (sometimes sweaty but usually dry). We think the battery may need changing as he has been using it for 5 months now. What type of batteries are required for the alarm unit and do you know where we can purchase them?
We've seen it is the A2354 3V for the docking station.
Kind Regards
Our Answer:

Hello the CR2354 3v battery is widely available, and we would suggest checking with your local high street chemist (they usually keep them as the batteries are used in a range of products such as hearing aids). Many thanks

Question: Hello, quick question...for what minimum age is the product best suited, I have a 5 year old - is it suitable for him?
Our Answer:

Yes, I used it with my 5 year old girl who was resisting removal of the night time nappies! It took around 2 weeks of using this device before she stopped needing to have them and we could finally get rid of the night time nappies!

Question: Hi

Does the DRI Sleeper Eclipse Wireless Anti Bed-Wetting device
contain both sensor and alarm, or do I have to buy them seperately?
Our Answer:

Hello, the Dri Sleeper Eclipse contains both the sensor and alarm - everything you need to use it. Mnay thanks
