Otosan Ear Cones - How Does It Work?
After placing the tapered end of the cone into the ear, the wide end is set alight. As it burns, the cone causes two effects. See the animated image below as a demonstration:
Otosan Effect Number 1: HEAT
The heat from the Otosan candle is released towards the inside of the ear in a beneficial way - this helps soften the wax AND reinforces blood circulation
Otosan Effect Number 2: SUCTION
The warm air produced by the Otosan rises, this causes a depression and suction effect at the base of the cone.
Firstly this helps eliminate waste and deposits from the ear canal and it also liberates closed pores and regenerates the skin.
It also helps regain the correct tension of the eardrum, especially following "holiday ears" - e.g when you've been in an airplane, in the swimming pool a lot, up high mountains etc etc.
How Safe are the Otosan Ear Cones?
The Otosan cones are far safer than Aurecon and Hopi in our opinion because of the Flame-Breaking Ring AND the Protective Disc - see images below

How To Use The Otosan Ear Candles (also known as Cones)

Insert the cone into the protective disc and light the wide end of the cone itself. |
Insert the tapered end of the cone into the ear holding it in a vertical position with your hand. |
When the flame has burnt down to the flame-breaking ring, stop treatment and extinguish the cone in a glass of water. |
It is recommended that you use the Otosan Cones at least once a month as preventative hygienic practice.

Brilliant! Much much better than the Hopi Candles that I have used for years. The flame is quite a bit larger than the hopi ones so I was a little scared at first but I was expecting it. It worked so much better and got so much more wax out than the Hopi Candles. I do suggest someone holds them for you (as with any ear cone) but I think you can do it yourself if you have a mirror! The flame ring thing and the disc certainly made me feel better about it - excellent!

I have been using the Aurecon candles recently but then found out they weren't Swiss Made as they indicate on the packaging but made out of somewhere in Eastern Europe or something - misleading so the trust went! Anyway, I tried these instead and I am so glad I did - they are much better. Well done! Love it.
